Intake spacer on J30A5

I had a shop install this intake spacer and accompanying thermal gasket to my 2007 Accord V6,which has only a CAI and missing third cat for mods.
Before the spacer I would inadvertently burn the tires at a stoplight barely touching the gas.

After the spacer was installed I have to floor it to barely get a squeak. The spacer is touted by all performance shops as increasing low end torque,and in this effort it failed. On my engine anyway. And the only adjusting the ECU did is causing the transmission to downshift to go to compensate for the engines lack of production of torque.
After research,I learned that higher velocity air through the plenum creates torque,but a higher VOLUME of air entering the plenum causes a mild increase in high end horsepower. I didn't buy the spacer to make 5 more HP at 6000 RPMs... Its not a NASCAR to me. I bought it to do what it said, increase low to mid range torque. But it did the opposite. Do research first,learn the physics of what makes what in your computer driven Accord. Acuras MDX utilizes a multi stage intake manifold, which uses valves to actually shut off half the manifold to the engine under 4000+/- RPMs, causing the incoming air to be really fast...thereby creating the torque the MDX truck needs to pull, haul,and dig in low to mid range. Then at a preset RPM point the valves open up,allowing more air to enter the engine, thereby creating horsepower for top end needs. Look it up. Acura engineers wouldn't do that if a higher volume plenum made more torque.

An intake manifold spacer does increase performance on an almost stock J30A5 engine...but not by shifting the power band down and increasing torque and "go" low/mid RPM. It does the opposite. It increases high RPM horsepower. I don't care what anyone says. I'm talking about real life experience. It was installed professionally by a licensed, certified shop mechanic, and nothing was done wrong. You doubt I'm on point? BUY ONE and see what happens.

Mine will be coming off next week. And I'll think real hard before I put anything else on my engine without owning HLPs J30A5/AT tuning hardware to make sure its shaking hands with the computer. But a spacer is not a major enough mod to need such a tune, the ECU should be able to account for the increased VOLUME of air coming in. It does. But it's only way to account for the LOSS of torque is to downshift the transmission at weird times.

Not only have I paid for all this ,but I've still got to pay more to have it removed. The shop feels sorry for me,and is doing it for half price.
Is 5hp worth all this???
